How long will it take to get a refund?
Refunds should be issued in 8-10 business days for individual income tax returns that were filed electronically.
Refunds for paper individual income tax returns mailed to the Louisiana Department of Revenue can take 12-16 weeks to process.
However, if the income tax return is randomly selected for review, the refund may be delayed. A taxpayer whose refund is being reviewed should be notified of the delay.
To avoid delayed income tax refunds, follow the advice provided by the Louisiana Department of Revenue at: http://wwwprd1.doa.louisiana.gov/AskLouise/PublicPages/DisplayQA.cfm?RecordID=314
