Purpose/Function The Bi-State Corridor Commission was created by the LA Legislature to provide an information forum on the construction, expansion, improvement, or extension of a route designated U.S. 371, including the four-lane improvements or any portion thereof within the boundaries of the district; the construction of bridges, overpasses, causeways, underpasses, traffic circles, interchanges, and landscaping relating thereto; and the long-term economic/industrial development and tourism development of the corridor area.
